Biography
Victoria Kjær Theilvig is a Danish beauty queen, former professional dancer and entrepreneur who won Miss Universe 2024. Born on November 13, 2003, in Herlev, a suburb of Copenhagen, she was 21 when she was crowned in Mexico City on November 16, 2024. She is the first woman from Denmark to win Miss Universe since the pageant began in 1952.
Her win also made her only the second Danish woman to take one of the four major international pageant titles, after Catharina Svensson won Miss Earth 2001. She was crowned by her predecessor, Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua, and handed the title to Fatima Bosch of Mexico at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand in November 2025.
During her reign she promoted mental health awareness, animal welfare and entrepreneurship in the beauty industry. She has said she would like to study law in the future.

Early Life
Kjær Theilvig grew up in the Copenhagen area; her mother, Pernille Kjær Olsen, lives in Herlev. Her mother told Danish broadcaster TV 2 Kosmopol that she had loved pageants since she was about five, dressing up in princess gowns and experimenting with make-up from a young age. She has a sister who lives in the United States.
She studied business and marketing at Lyngby Handelsgymnasium in Kongens Lyngby. After finishing school she danced professionally and competed at European and World Championship level, and she later started working as an entrepreneur in the beauty sector.

Career
Kjær Theilvig entered her first pageant, Miss Denmark, in 2021 and placed second runner-up. In 2022 she was appointed Miss Grand Denmark and represented the country at Miss Grand International 2022, finishing in the Top 20.
In 2024 she was chosen to represent Denmark at Miss Universe after the Miss Denmark 2024 winner, Emma Heyst, decided not to compete. At the 73rd Miss Universe pageant in Mexico City she became the first Danish delegate to reach the final five and went on to win the crown, with Chidimma Adetshina of Nigeria as first runner-up.
As Miss Universe she travelled widely for the organisation, with appearances in the United States, including the Hispanic Inaugural Ball in January 2025, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates for Dubai Fashion Week, Indonesia, India, Puerto Rico, the Netherlands and the Philippines, where she led a parade in Manila in April 2025.
