Bessan Ismail

Ismail spent her early childhood in Syria. She has said her father disappeared when she was young and that for a long time the family did not know whether he was alive, and she describes her childhood as both bitter and sweet. At about 10 she left Syria for Germany, where she lived for roughly seven years.

She began uploading short singing clips at about 14, while still living in Germany, and moved to Dubai at 17. She often credits her mother and her brother with supporting her career, and has said that moving countries made her more independent.

Ismail's online career began around 2016, when she started posting music covers and light entertainment videos. Her audience grew quickly across the Arabic-speaking world, and she later relocated to Dubai, where she continues to work as a singer and creator.

Early on she performed songs written by others. She has since moved towards writing her own material. "Al Harbein", released in January 2025 with a music video shot in Lebanon and directed by Haifa Al-Faqih, reached number six on YouTube's global trending chart. An earlier song, "Ya Khali", was also popular. She has also released collaborations, including the trio track "3lash" with Amjad Jomaa and Fouad Jned.

Alongside music, Ismail produces lifestyle and fashion content and works with brands, including a 2026 Eid campaign with Shein. She has said she hopes to perform in the largest theatres in the Middle East and eventually internationally.
