Biography
Demi Engemann (born Demetria Lucy May) is an American social media influencer and reality television personality from Salt Lake City, Utah. She is best known as one of the original cast members of Hulu's The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, the reality series about a group of Utah mothers in the "MomTok" social media community, which premiered in September 2024.
She was a main cast member in the show's first three seasons, from 2024 to 2025, and appeared in a reduced role in Season 4 in 2026. Her storylines have centred on her marriage to former BYU quarterback Bret Engemann, who is 16 years older than her, and her shifting friendships within the group.
She shares family and lifestyle content with her followers on Instagram and TikTok.
Early Life
Demi grew up in the Salt Lake City area of Utah. She has said she met Bret Engemann when she was 21, at a family friend's funeral, and she has denied an online rumour that he was once her babysitter.
She was previously married to Blake Corbin, from about 2015 to 2020, and married Bret Engemann in 2021. Her family includes a daughter and two stepchildren.
Career
Demi built an online audience by posting about motherhood, family and everyday life in Utah, and she became part of the MomTok group of influencers. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives premiered on Hulu on 6 September 2024, and she was a main cast member from the first season.
Season 2, released on 15 May 2025, included episodes in which she and Bret addressed rumours about their marriage, and ended with her leaving the MomTok group after an ultimatum to her castmates backfired. In Season 3, released on 13 November 2025, she largely kept her distance from the group, and the season's reunion featured tense questioning from castmates about her connection to Vanderpump Villa star Marciano Brunette.
For Season 4, which premiered in March 2026, she stepped back. She appeared only briefly, including at the cast's appearance at the Dancing with the Stars premiere, and did not film confessional interviews. In a TMZ interview she said she had walked away for her peace and mental health, and that any return would depend on what was right for her and her family. During this period she also released a cover of Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors" with Bret.
