On Single's Inferno 5 he and Choi Mina Sue bonded early by speaking English together, and she often confided in him about her feelings for other cast members. He reassured her in episode six when she doubted herself, told her in episode seven that he wanted to get to know her romantically, and also went to Paradise with Park Hee-sun. After the two won a game in episode eleven and went on a dinner date, they chose each other in the final, released on 10 February 2026. Viewers also noted that he comforted other women on the island.
The show's producers said Lee's credentials stood out among a cast chosen mainly for appearance, while career and regional diversity were also considered.
