Born in 1996, he was introduced on the show as an optician working in his family's optical shop. After the season it emerged that he had also acted in television dramas, at one time under the name Woo Gi-hun.

Early Life
Woo wanted to act from his school years. As a second-year high school student he appeared in a December 2013 EBS youth programme about working on a pig farm, using the name Woo Gi-hun. He later said he took part because he thought even one television appearance would help an aspiring actor.
Career
Before Single's Inferno, Woo worked as an optician in his family's optical business, and he had acting credits in dramas including Solomon's Perjury, Second 20s, Twelve Nights and Cross. The show presented him only as an optician, which TEN Asia later noted as part of a wider debate over cast members' stated jobs.
On the island Netflix described him as a sweet optician who took charge of cooking lunch. Kim Min-ji chose him for Paradise after winning the first women's vote, and he later went to Paradise with Kim Go-eun. In the final, Kim Go-eun picked him, in a choice the press called unexpected. At the reunion special on 14 February 2026, filmed about six months after shooting, they said they had not dated but had remained friends.
On 4 March 2026 the agency Big Friends announced an exclusive contract with Woo, and he has said he is pursuing acting.
