Rahma Riad is an Iraqi singer and actress, born Rahma Abdulredha Mezher Al-Sibahi on 19 January 1987 in Basra, Iraq. She is the daughter of Iraqi singer Riad Ahmed and became known across the Arab world as runner-up on Star Academy in 2010.
Her 2018 single "Waed Menni" is one of the most-viewed songs by a female Arab artist on YouTube, with more than 148 million views by August 2020. Since 2021 she has been a judge on MBC Iraq's Iraq Idol, and in 2022 she sang on "Light The Sky", a song for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Early Life
Riad grew up in a musical household. Her father, Abdulredha Mezher Al-Sibahi, performs under the name Riad Ahmed, and she later took "Riad" as part of her stage name.
At 17 she entered the talent show Super Star and reached its second stage. She then took part in Gulf Star, a contest for Gulf music, and made it to the finals, where she sang "Er7moni Ya Alem" with Iraqi singer Haitham Yousif as a tribute to the Iraqi people and her father.

Career
Riad's profile grew sharply in 2010 on Star Academy, where she performed with established singers including Assala, Latifa, Angham and Nawal El Zoghbi. She reached the final and finished second, behind Syrian winner Nassif Zeytoun.
Her first release after the show was "Khlesna", a Lebanese-dialect single with a video filmed in Lebanon, and she also recorded a song for the AFC Asian Cup and the Gulf-dialect track "Moo Galata". Later singles include "Ella Gillilhom" (2012), "Bosa" (2014), "Anoudi" (2015) and "Weinak" (2016). "Waed Menni", released on 22 August 2018 with lyrics by Ramy Al-Aboudi and music by Ali Saber, became her biggest hit.
In January 2021 she joined the judging panel of Iraq Idol on MBC Iraq, and MBC renewed her contract for another season that autumn. Her 2021 singles "Athadakom" and "Al Kawkab" were both popular; "Al Kawkab" passed a million YouTube views within a day. In October 2022 she sang on "Light The Sky" alongside Balqees, Manal and Nora Fatehi.
