Biography
Urassaya Sperbund, known as Yaya, is a Thai-Norwegian actress and model born in Pattaya on March 18, 1993. She is one of Thailand's best-known television actresses, with lead roles in dramas such as Duang Jai Akkanee and The Crown Princess, and has won two Suphannahong National Film Awards.
Early Life
Yaya was born in Pattaya, Chonburi province, to a Norwegian father, Sigurd, and a Thai mother, Urai, and has an older sister, Cattleya. She attended Regent's International School Pattaya and Bangkok Patana School, and graduated from Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Arts in 2015 with a degree in language and culture. She was approached at Chatuchak Park and booked her first modelling job at 13; her family later moved to Bangkok to support her career.
Career
Her breakthrough came in 2010 with Duang Jai Akkanee, followed by popular dramas including Game Rai Game Rak (2011), Torranee Ni Nee Krai Krong (2012), Khluen Chiwit (2017), which brought her a TV Gold Award, The Crown Princess (2018) and Klin Kasalong (2019).
On film she starred in Brother of the Year (2018) and Fast and Feel Love (2022), winning a Suphannahong National Film Award for each, and appeared in Nakee 2 (2018). She met actor Nadech Kugimiya while filming Duang Jai Akkanee in 2010; the couple became engaged in June 2023 and married on April 17, 2026 in an Isan-themed ceremony in Khon Kaen.
