Biography

Whitney Leavitt (born Whitney Marie Ellis on May 12, 1993) is an American media personality, content creator and stage performer from American Fork, Utah. She is best known as one of the original main cast members of the Hulu reality series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, appearing in all five seasons from 2024 to 2026.

On the show, which follows the Utah influencer circle known as MomTok, Leavitt quickly became one of its most talked-about figures; Vulture described her as the series' breakout star. Her profile grew further through ABC's Dancing with the Stars in 2025 and a 2026 Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in Chicago.

Leavitt is married to Conner Leavitt, and the couple have three children. They live in St. George, Utah.

Early Life

Leavitt grew up in American Fork, Utah, in a Latter-day Saint household. She is one of five biological children of Brady and Stephanie Ellis, who also fostered a number of other children over the years. Dance was a central part of her childhood, and she competed as a dancer throughout her school years.

She went on to study at Brigham Young University, graduating in 2018 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis on dance. After college she spent time travelling in Europe and lived in Uganda for several months. She also served a church mission in Georgia, during which she became acquainted with the family of her future husband; the couple married in August 2016 at the Provo Utah Rock Canyon Temple.

Career

Leavitt began posting on TikTok in March 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, and soon became part of the MomTok community of Utah-based mothers who made dance and lifestyle videos together. Her account grew into one of the larger in the group, and by 2026 she had millions of followers across TikTok and Instagram.

In 2024 she joined the main cast of Hulu's The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. She appeared in season 1 (2024), seasons 2 and 3 (2025) and seasons 4 and 5 (2026). During her final performance in Chicago on May 3, 2026, she announced that she was leaving the series, and season 5 was reported to be her last as a main cast member.

In 2025 she competed on season 34 of Dancing with the Stars, partnered with professional Mark Ballas. The pair reached the semifinals and finished in sixth place after being eliminated on November 18, 2025. Shortly afterward she was announced as Roxie Hart in the Broadway revival of Chicago at the Ambassador Theatre. The run was extended, and box-office reports for the week of March 8 to 15, 2026 described it as the highest weekly gross in the production's history.

Leavitt has also appeared in short films, and her announced projects include the holiday romantic comedy All For Love, which she also executive produces, a return to Broadway in the musical Just in Time, a place on season 6 of Peacock's The Traitors, and an untitled Hulu reality series about her life.
