Biography
Danya Al Mulla, who is credited on Netflix as Danya Mohammed and is known to her followers as Diva Dee, is an Emirati entrepreneur, vlogger and reality television personality. She was born and raised in Abu Dhabi, and she is best known as a main cast member of the Netflix docu-soap Dubai Bling, in which she has appeared since its first season in 2022.
On the show she appears alongside her husband, the Emirati DJ and broadcaster Marwan Al Awadhi, better known as DJ Bliss. Netflix introduced the pair as a free-spirited couple working on open and honest communication, and their marriage, family life and friendships with the rest of the cast have been recurring storylines across Seasons 1, 2 and 3.
Away from television, she runs several businesses in the UAE, including the streetwear cap line BYD, the events company The Bicnic and The Besties Café in Dubai's Al Seef district. She also posts lifestyle content on YouTube and TikTok and hosts a podcast, Meet My Friends.
Early Life
Danya grew up in Abu Dhabi. She has said that she once hoped to become a doctor, and she went on to earn a master's degree; in interviews she has spoken of wanting to continue to a PhD with a focus on sustainability.
Her first business grew out of her student years. According to a 2025 Gulf News profile, a trip to New York while she was at university gave her the idea for BYD, a cap brand she launched around 2012 to 2013. She married Marwan Al Awadhi when she was 24.
Career
Before television, Danya built a following as a vlogger and worked on her own ventures. After BYD, she founded The Bicnic, an event-organising company known for curated outdoor picnic set-ups with views of the Dubai skyline. She later opened The Besties Café in Al Seef with her friend and Dubai Bling co-star Ebraheem Al Samadi, and during Season 2 she launched a shoe line called DeesignS.
Netflix announced the Dubai Bling cast in September 2022, presenting DJ Bliss and Danya Mohammed as one of the show's couples, and the series premiered on 27 October 2022. She returned for Season 2 in December 2023 and Season 3 in January 2025. Her storylines have dealt with her marriage, motherhood, her business plans and her friendships and disagreements with other cast members, including a business partnership with Ebraheem in Season 3.
She also hosts the podcast Meet My Friends and has said publicly that she would like to pursue acting. DJ Bliss has since announced that he is stepping away from the series; as of the latest reports, Danya had not confirmed whether she would return for another season.
