Early Life
Montana was born in Lagos State to Tony and Gladys Nwaefuna and was raised in Festac Town. Her family is from Ibusa, Delta State; she has pushed back on online claims linking her to Abia State. She has an elder sister and two younger siblings.
She attended Loral International School and later earned a diploma in Law from Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education in Lagos, though she chose acting over a legal career. She originally worked under her birth surname, Nwaefuna, and adopted the name Montana - which she has said is her father's name - for branding, explaining that many people found Nwaefuna hard to spell and pronounce.

From 2021 she expanded into screenwriting and producing, founding Montana Media and using YouTube as a distribution platform.
